About me:
I'm a lawyer currently working in-house for National Grid. I am qualified to practice in both Scotland and England & Wales, with 10 years experience in many aspects of upstream and midstream oil and gas legal work, together with experience in legal issues associated with LNG importation terminals.
What I'm doing now:
My current main areas of focus/experience are:
- gas transportation/distribution
- gas trading
- LNG importation
- LNG storage
- carbon capture and storage
What I also do:
I am also responsible for overseeing the Legal team's Sharepoint-based document management system (for which we won a Legal Technology Award) and other specific IT applications (including Workshare, DealBuilder and Colligo). I therefore have an (unhealthy, some would say!) interest in technology generally and additional uses for our Sharepoint system in particular (such as for knowledge sharing and collaboration). I sometime blog about what I've done if I've struggled to find something on the web or think it may be of use to someone else. I was also listed one of "Global Tech Leaders Top 100" in relation to legal technology.
What I like to do:
Instead of working, I would much rather be out walking in the Peak District (or elsewhere!) I'm lucky living so close to the Peak District National Park and having some fantastic walking on the doorstep. From time to time I record my walks in a blog, as I know it can be helpful to get an idea for a walk from one that someone else has done.
